Teljoy was "born" on 2 June 1969, a year of historical events, like the first man walking on the moon and the maiden voyage of the Boeing 747. Teljoy's founder, Theo Rutstein, saw a need for South African's to have access to television so they could watch events like these unfold. Theo and Teljoy brought television to the country and installed the very first TV set in South Africa in 1974. Fast forward to 2023 and Teljoy is celebrating 54 years of bringing JOY into South African homes. We've expanded from TVs to everything you need for your home, from dishwashers, washing machines, fridges and tumble dryers, to laptops, game consoles, inverters, sound systems and even beds and furniture.
