DECLUTTER “| want to clean my room,” said no kid ever. Turn tidying your child’s bedroom into a game by giving them three boxes labelled Keep, Donate and Throw Away. Sorting through old toys and clothes teaches decision- making and kindness, and it’s also a great way to clear space and start fresh. Once you've finished, drop off the donations together. “» BETTER LIFE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS If your kids love experiments, the kitchen is the perfect spot to play mad scientist. Everything you need is probably already in your cupboards. Fizzy volcano You'll need half a cup of vinegar, two tablespoons of baking soda, a few drops of food colouring and a large container or bottle. Put the baking soda and colouring inside the container, then slowly pour in the vinegar. Watch the lava bubble and fizz up in a mini eruption. Magic oobleck You'll need four cups of cornflour, two cups of water, and a bit of food colouring. Mix everything in a large bowl until smooth. When you squeeze it, it feels solid, but when you let it rest, it runs through your fingers. Rainbow milk swirl You'll need a shallow dish, some milk, food colouring, and a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid. Pour a thin layer of milk so it just covers the bottom of the dish. Add a few drops of food colouring (try different colours around the edges). Let your child dip a cotton bud into the dishwashing liquid, then touch it gently to the surface of the milk. In seconds, the colours will swirl across the surface like a rainbow. =
